They cannot hide the fun they’re having, and neither should they. The audience call for a second encore tells them that they have had just as much fun too.

Combining irresistibly charming, boot-stompin’ tunes with intertwined twangy and jangly guitars, powerful vocal harmonies and a kick drum made from an old suitcase, Jaime April and Jason Moon make up the UK-based duo APRIL MOON. Known for their high-energy live shows and fun, well crafted songwriting, they make a formidable duo. Growing up on the prairies beside the North Saskatchewan River in Canada, embracing the open road became a necessity to travel between venues and the pair haven’t put down roots since, splitting their time between several countries a year and living out of a cool campervan they call 'The Clubhouse'.
APRIL MOON’s fun, whimsical songwriting style fuses genres, weaving effortlessly from alt-country and Americana to folksy blues and rock although their new EP, Forgiveness Juice (out May 2025) definitely leans towards the sounds of their more rootsy upbringing. Following up on their self-released full album The Other One Was You, the duo worked in a Liverpool studio with a funding grant to record the new music and gain the support of radio programs such as BBC Introducing and Countryline Homegrown. Forgiveness Juice will be rolled out with a headline ‘Americana all-dayer’ show at Future Yard in Birkenhead and an extended tour that will take the duo across the UK, Europe and Canada.
APRIL MOON call their genre Canadiana - think Americana, but with a big helping of northern charm that oozes through their style of kooky storytelling and lyrics, creating a vivid, sunshine-filled world that covers everything from love, scandal and divorce to life on the prairies, living in an abandoned brewery, cow autopsies, and the nomad life.
... the most sunshine-filled performance I think I’ve ever seen! Stage presence is immense: so much energy and vibrancy, we just can’t keep our eyes off this pair! A set that truly shone, with real bluegrass feels, and sweet country music verging at times on a slight blues or gospel sound. Absolutely wonderful, impossible to keep still, a spectacular performance!
- Lucy Bell, New Sound Generation - Live review from Cavern Live Lounge, Liverpool
Splitting their year between Canary Island beaches in wintertime, Canadian prairie summers and the open road in the UK, Jaime and Jason’s wanderlust is woven through their lyrics and frank, honest stories. In 2023, this took the shape of a campervan to make travel between gigs easier and give them an opportunity to see more of the countryside along the way. After adding the finishing touches on a Transit van conversion including the capabilities to record demos while on the road, the pair decided to give up their Liverpool flat and do the van thing full time.
“We call our campervan ‘The Clubhouse’ because as soon as we’re in there, we feel like two little kids who have built a cool tree fort and have somehow convinced our parents to let us have a sleepover in it.” Jaime & Jason
